Timothy Lee Hoffman Sr. was born July 8, 1955, to Robert and Erma (Hulbert) Hoffman in Des Moines IA, where he has lived his entire life. At age 14, he met the love of his life, Pamela (Liggett) Hoffman, when his family moved in next door to hers. They were married February 14, 1975, and welcomed son Timothy Jr. in August of 1976, followed by daughter Danielle in May of 1978.
Tim didn’t know a stranger and was quick to start a conversation with anyone. He made many friends over his almost 43-year career as a welder at Delevan, where he retired from in 2018. His favorite things to do were spending an afternoon watching races or football and baseball games with Pam, and if there wasn’t a race or game on, he was always listening to music. He loved spending time in his garage working on a car, or taking Jeep rides with Pam. He loved his dogs, and they were always treated as part of the family.
Tim was a loving husband and devoted dad and grandpa, volunteering many hours as a coach for the Southside Soccer Club and YMCA kids football coach, building and racing radio-controlled race cars, cheering his children and grandchildren on through all their school activities, and taking his family on numerous adventures. He could be counted on for his quick wit, and never failed to have his treat drawer full for his 4 grandkids. He was happy to brag about any and all of his family’s achievements, and his kids and grandkids never had a doubt that he was their biggest fan. His greatest joy of all was his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his love, Pam, son Tim & Erika Hoffman, daughter Danielle Russo, his grandchildren Luciano & Milana Russo and Ophelia & Graham Hoffman, and other relatives and friends.
