Sally May Eggers, 83, of Ramsey Village, Des Moines, went to be with Jesus on March 18, 2024. Sally was born May 7,1940, to Ona and Charles Preston. She grew up in Melbourne, Iowa, where she graduated High School. She attended AIB Business College and met her husband, Jerry, at a party. They were united in marriage on December 14, 1958, and were married for 56 years. She experienced community in State Center, Lake of the Ozarks, Twin Anchors (Colo), Sandpiper Beacon Resort (Panama City Beach, FL), Ilahee (Urbandale), and Ramsey Village (Des Moines). Sally loved the Lord and made friends easily wherever she lived. Known as “Miss Hollywood” at Ramsey with her sense of style and warm smile, she enjoyed visiting with her roommate, friends, and staff, and winning at Bingo. Sally is survived by her children: Robyn (Mike) Davis of Maxwell, Kathy (Tom) Beckman of Des Moines, Jason (LaRena) Eggers of Harrisonville, MO., eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Sally is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry, her parents Ona and Charles, and her older sister Marlys Ann who died at birth. A celebration of life will be held in May. A memorial fund has been set up at Harvest Vineyard Church Fort Dodge, Sally Eggers Memorial, 320 S 17th Street, Ames, IA 50010.
