RoseAnn Marie Hooper

RoseAnn Marie Hooper 89 of Gilman, IA. passed from this life on June 7th, 2024

 

Born July 4th, 1934, to Ralph and Margret (Bailey) Trent in Waterloo, IA. She attended school at Orange School. She married in 1954 and had three children over the years. She was later divorced. In 1980 she meets the love of her life Stan Chesick. They were married on Dec. 10th, 1983, and shared a home in rural Green Mountain until 2012 at which time they moved to Gilman, IA. RoseAnn was no stranger to hard work. She spent many years cleaning houses for folks in the Green Mountain area, she worked at Lynks seed company in the fall time, but she was best known by folks in the area for the work she did as a cook at the Green Mountain school. She was known by both the kids at school as well as their parents. The kids at school all called her Ma Hooper. RoseAnn was known by many and knew most everyone that lived close to her and Stan. RoseAnn was the person that would give until it hurt and then give some more whether it was her time or anything else she had. Being outdoors was something she loved, especially in the summer. There were lots of hours spent in the garden and if not there, it was on her mower. RoseAnn had a love for nature and a deep love for God's greatest winged creature, the eagle. She had quite the collection of eagles which she acquired over the years. RoseAnne loved with all of her heart and enjoyed the life she was able to make between herself and Stan. They spent life on the road at times, because Stan was an over the road truck driver. She was always glad to share the sights and stories from their time on the road. Those left to cherish RoseAnn are her loving husband of forty years Stan, her children Ann Hooper of Green Mountian, Iowa; Merle Hooper of Jasper, Tennessee; and Stan's children: Jeffery and wife JoEllyn of Marshalltown; Joyce and John Johnson of Marshalltown; Jennifer Maxfield of Nevada; Jodi and Gerry Kahler of Kolona; James and Carrie of Haysville, Kansas; twenty one grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; her brothers Verron and wife Patty of Waterloo, Iowa; Roy of Altoona, Iowa; Ray and wife Julie of San Antonio, Texas, as well as numerous people she made friends with in her life time. Three of the best neighbor kids which she cherished dearly  Auroa, Trinity and Jaimes. RoseAnn was preceded in death by her parents. a brother Eugene, sister-in-law Peggy, daughter Mary Davis, Stan's daughter Julie Fileds, son in law Al Maxfield and grandson Bruce York.
