Peter Joel Miller, age 78, passed away at home on December 25, 2022 surrounded by family. Peter was born on September 28, 1944 to his parents Louis and Mary (Volid) Miller in Chicago, Illinois.
He attended Roosevelt University and continued his education at DePaul Law School. He practiced law until his retirement from Fischel & Kahn, Ltd. Peter also served in the United States Army Reserve.
Peter taught and enjoyed scuba diving. He ran numerous marathons. He also served on the advisory board for Facing History and Ourselves.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Margaret, (nee Maggio); son Jason Miller (Corin Sailor), and their children Willa and Rue Miller; son Matthew Miller (Virginia Broersma); daughter Sarah Miller-Park (Dustin) and their children Asher, Elliott and Dinah; daughter Renée Reech and her children Abdel and Zak Morched; son Ashton Reech (Colleen O’Neill) and their child Lola Reech; daughter Jennifer Finney (Jeff) and their children Noah and Paige Finney; sister Betsy Malis-Wolf; niece Robin Horton (Randy) and their children Logan and Jessica Horton; and nephew Bryan Malis (Cathy).
He is preceded in death by his parents; uncle Peter Volid; aunt Ruth Volid; and many other beloved family members.
