Paul Edward Jones (93) passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by loved ones.
Paul was born on May 11, 1931, in Kokomo, Indiana. He attended high school in Bridgeton, Indiana, where he developed a lifelong love for sports. Shortly after graduating, he dedicated four years of service to his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning home, Paul embarked on a successful career with Bell Telephone Company.
On March 3, 1956, Paul married LaVon Rose Dole, and together, they built a home filled with joy and cherished memories.
Paul’s passion for sports, especially basketball, shone throughout his life. Whether playing on the court or cheering from the sidelines, his enthusiasm was contagious. He also had a talent for fixing TVs and electronics, finding joy in improving gadgets in his spare time.
Paul will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family and friends, his zest for life, and his kind and generous spirit.
Paul is survived by his son Phil (Suzanne Quinn-Jones) Jones, daughter Carol (partner, Danny) Jones, and granddaughter Alanna Quinn-Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife LaVon Rose Jones.
The family has chosen to honor Paul privately, and there will be no formal services or visitations.
