Mark Anthony Parsons passed away on January 17, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark was born on May 9, 1969 in Des Moines, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Kristi Parsons, his son Kristopher (Erin), his parents Frank and Marsha Parsons, his brother Gene Parsons as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many who he counted as family.
He graduated from East High School in 1987. Mark was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1987 - 1995. After his enlistment he was an employee of CB&I for 22 years and retired this past fall. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and camp. He had an infectious passion to constantly explore and never knew how to stop moving; often dragging you off to some yard sale. He was passionate about his family and always made them a priority. Although he has started a new journey his impact and presence will always be found in the hearts of those who knew him.
His funeral is being held at Fellowship Community Church on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. (225 North Avenue, Norwalk, Iowa). Graveside service will be held at Iowa National Cemetery on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. (34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa).
