Linda Kay Johnson, 75, of Boone, IA passed away June 7, 2022, at Westhaven Community. A celebration of life and luncheon will be held July 30, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pilot Mound Community Building, 112 Pilot Street, Pilot Mound, IA
Linda was born on May 22, 1947, in Boone, Iowa to Arlow and Ardell (Poulson) Johnson. Linda grew up in Pilot Mount, IA, attending Grand Community School and graduating with the class of 1965. Where she was Homecoming Queen. After graduation she attended Boone Junior College. She then graduated from UNI with a teaching degree in Home Economics. Her teaching path took her to Parkersburg, IA then to Council Bluffs. After a few years in the teaching profession, she changed career paths and became a Manager with Northwest Fabrics. She traveled to several locations. She then changed career paths again and started to work at the University of Iowa Hospital where she was the personnel supervisor for the Pharmacy Department. While she was there, she decided to continue with her education getting a teaching degree for elementary and special education. This career move took her to Eagle Grove Iowa teaching until her retirement. She was a 10 yr. Breast Cancer Survivor. She loved attending the annual race for the cure fundraiser in Des Moines.
Family gatherings were special to Linda along with her many pets. Linda had many projects and hobbies. She loved gardening.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Sister Marvilyn Reutter, Brother Loel Johnson, brother-in-law Cleo Williams
Linda is survived by 4 nephews; Michael (Jill) Williams of Boone, Jay (Barb)Williams of Pilot Mound, Eric (Denise)Johnson of Waukee, Steven Johnson of Carlisle, Waneta Johnson sister in law of Carlisle, Gerald Reutter Brother in law of Pilot Mound Many great nieces and nephews, cousins, lots of loving friends.
