John W. Pearce, age 57, of Ames, Iowa passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, surrounded by family.
John was born on March 26, 1966, in Ames, IA. He graduated from Colo High School in 1984 where he participated in many activities including band, chorus, and football. John was an excellent musician who mastered the piano at a very young age and could play songs by ear. John also played drums, and guitar, and enjoyed listening to the blues. He was a skilled carpenter and had careers in the building trades and agriculture. He also enjoyed old cars and was an excellent mechanic. John’s true joy was his love for nature. He spent his free time fishing and canoeing in the Iowa lakes and rivers. More recently John enjoyed watching the birds and butterflies and a nest of Eagles near his home.
John was known for his great sense of humor. He didn’t know a stranger and easily made friends wherever he went. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
John was proceeded in death by his father, John L. Pearce, and is survived by his mother, Mary Moore, sister Tammi Reyes and her husband David, brother Jamie Pearce, sister Terri Pearce, bother Joshua Sullivan and his wife Melinda, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
