On August 24, 2022, Helen L. Bernath-Morrison-Kirkendall died in Des Moines, Iowa after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 79 years old.
Helen is survived by her husband Robert J. Kirkendall; her children, Dellos Morrison of Worthington, OH, Jeffery Morrison, of Fridley, MN and Sheri Osborn-Morrison of Kansas City, MO; sibling, Irene Olson of Jamestown, ND. and Grandchildren, Jonathan Morrison, Korey Morrison, Thomas Morrison and Lance Morrison. She was preceded in death by her father, G. Max Bernath; Mother, Pauline Bernath and Husband, Donald Morrison.
Helen was born on January 22, 1943 in Hallock, MN. She grew up on a farm south of McArthur, ND. She married Donald Morrison in 1960 they lived in Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio and Iowa. Don Passed away in 1995. She continued operating Honey Bear Home Care the business she and Don started until April 2003 when she married Robert Kirkendall and moved to Nevada. Helen and Bob lived in Nevada until 2015 when they returned to Urbandale to be closer to family members. Helen enjoyed life and spending time with family members.
A private family ceremony will take place at McDivitt Grove Cemetery, Urbandale, IA.
