Heather Marie Sorensen
Surrounded by family, loving wife and mother, Heather Marie Sorensen went to heaven to be with her Lord on December 10th, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
Heather was born to Charles and Ella Putbrese on July 1st, 1966 in Washington D.C. She grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Dowling Catholic High School, then later graduated from Iowa State University. Heather and her husband Scot were married in 1987. They had two daughters, Emma and Grace, who were the joys of her life.
Heather’s passions included traveling the world, the performing arts, reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching foreign police dramas, and spending time with her family and friends. She worked for Meredith Corporation for 23 years.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, parents, six brothers, Steve, Kevin, Mark, Dan, John, and Keith, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, IA on January 10th, 2022 at 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
