Ewald Josef Zaegel, 90, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, October 16, 2023. Ewald was born on July 7, 1933, in Heiligenwald, Saarland, Germany. Ewald first immigrated to Canada in 1956 where he met and married his loving wife of 63 years, Elke. they moved to the United States, where they raised their four children. Ewald worked in maintenance supervision at a few nationally known corporations in several states. Surviving are his wife, Elke Zaegel; children, Steven Zaegel, Karen (Herk) Calvert, Christine Zaegel, and Michael (Lisa) Zaegel. Ewald was proud to be a grandfather, as well as a great grandfather. Memorial celebration with friends and family to be to determined at a later date.
