Donna Evon Slama Bohms, age 91, passed from this life on January 2, 2021 at Fountain West Health Center in West Des Moines, IA as a result of Covid-19. Donna was born May 27, 1929 in Early, IA to Earl & Onah Slama.
A graduate of Early High School, she married Ron Bohms , the love of her life, on August 16, 1947 in Dixon, IL. She was a homemaker, wife & mother, but upon his death in 1980 she worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, IA. She loved to bowl & have weekly coffees with her friends all of whom have preceeded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Cook, Bentonville, AR, three grandchildren Sean Lauver (Emily) Clive, IA, Jason Lauver, Albuquerque, NM and Caryn Wood, Savannah, GA. Two great grandchildren, Jacob & Ellie Lauver, Clive, IA. And grandpuppy, Cubby, Bentonville, AR who brought her much joy & comfort on his visits to Fountain West.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Daryl Slama & son-in-law Tom Cook.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Fountain West and Sun Crest Hospice for the incredible care they provided to her and to us.
Internment will occur at a later date at Early Cemetery.
