David Stouffer, 77, passed away on December 18, 2022, at home. There will be a private graveside service at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, IA.
David was born to Gerald and Marguerite (German) Stouffer on August 3, 1945, in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines in 1963. Dave attended Drake University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1968. On June 8, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Lurene Olson. The two were wed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Moines. He enlisted in the United States Army on December 4, 1968, and was honorably discharged on September 3, 1970. Dave and Linda were married 42 years until Linda’s passing in 2010. Together they had two children and four grandchildren.
Dave is preceded in death by his wife Linda Stouffer, parents Gerald and Marguerite Stouffer, and sisters-in-laws Kathleen Stouffer and Rosemary Stouffer.
Dave is survived by his daughters, Jodi (Jamie) Meyer of Ankeny, Jill (Ryan) LaBarre of Clive and grandchildren, Megan, Nick, Makenna and Jack. He is also survived by his two brothers Steve Stouffer of Denver, CO and Scott (Pat) Stouffer of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews.
Dave enjoyed rooting on the Iowa State Cyclones and watching hockey games. He loved telling jokes and watching movies of all kinds. His favorite vacation spots were the Grand Canyon and family trips to Lake Okoboji and Disney World.
