Darla Geneva Ogg was born February 22nd, 1965, and went home to Jesus June 1st, 2024, after a courageous fight with breast cancer.
A celebration of life will be held at Kingdom Life Family Ministries International Church, 321 Euclid Ave. in Des Moines, Iowa on June 15th, 2024, at 3PM.
Darla enjoyed the simple things in life like praising Jesus, sipping coffee, good music, juicy yard sales, and the Osceola 4th of July celebration where she would play loads of BINGO while enjoying a funnel cake!
She never missed an opportunity to tell you she loved you, even if she had just met you. When she said she loved you, she meant it with her whole wide heart.
Darla leaves behind her siblings Anita (Kelly) Shirah, Carol (Gene) Southwick, Deb Van Sickle, Jerry Ogg, Donny (Yvonne) Van Sickle, and Perry (Jennifer) Van Sickle; her many nieces and nephews; and her dog, and good boy, Johnny.
She was Aunt Darla to more Honeys, babies, and Apple Jack's than we can list. She loved her nieces, nephews and all her great nieces and nephews with everything she had, especially her whole wide heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother Geneva Ilene Van Sickle, her Husband Cory Thompson, and her doggies Bubba, Lizzy, and Bubba 2.
The family will collect donations at the celebration of life for the Clarke County Animal Shelter and will have a designated area for you to drop them off before the service. Donations can also be made to the shelter in her memory.
She will be missed. We love you Darla, with our whole wide heart.
