Blaine Oberender

Blaine Oberender passed away on Monday April 4th at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Blaine was born October 13, 1972, to Vicki Waters and Dave Oberender in Des Moines, IA. He lived in a few small towns while growing up, including Sheldahl, Clarion and Galt, IA. He attended East High School in Des Moines where he met and later married Phyllis Cuifo Oberender. Together they had two children.

Blaine was a remarkable mason by trade. All throughout the metro are amazing fireplaces, stone columns, and brick fronts that Blaine created.

When he wasn’t standing on some scaffolding, he could be found hunting, fishing, and camping all over Iowa. Blaine and the boys camped every chance they could and were never far from a fishing pole. Blaine gathered friends wherever he went, and it was a rare sight to see Blaine without one of his buddy’s around. He was a life long avid Green Bay Packer fan. He was able to see them play a couple of times including a trip to Lambeau Field.

Blaine is survived by his wife Phyllis, his boys Mason and Cole and beloved dog Buddy.

He is also survived by his Mother Vicki Waters (Paul) and brother Troy (Teri). His father Dave Oberender (Glenda) and brothers Shane and Cody. His grandmother Betty Mundt, niece Adelaide and nephews Tristyn, Kane and Jackson. Also left to remember him are many loving Aunts and Uncles.
